China's Lighting Exports Rebound in First Half of 2026, LED Fill Lights Lead Growth

According to the latest data from the General Administration of Customs of China, from January to June 2026, China's total exports of lamps, lighting fixtures, and their parts reached approximately RMB 54 billion, marking a year-on-year increase of about 12%, signaling a steady recovery after several years of fluctuation. Among all categories, LED fill lights performed particularly well, with export growth reaching 18%—significantly outpacing the industry average and becoming one of the strongest growth segments in the lighting export sector.

Within the fill light category, plant grow lights stood out as the top performer, with export growth exceeding 25% year-on-year, primarily shipping to the Netherlands, the United States, and Germany—countries with highly developed controlled-environment agriculture. As vertical farming and greenhouse cultivation continue to expand globally, demand for plant lighting solutions keeps rising. Leveraging its complete LED industry chain and growing capabilities in spectrum customization, China is accelerating its capture of this high-value market. Meanwhile, exports of fill lights for live streaming also maintained strong momentum, with growth of approximately 20%. Beyond traditional European and American markets, emerging markets such as Southeast Asia and the Middle East are becoming new growth drivers, reflecting the ever‑increasing global competitiveness of Chinese LED fill light products.

From a product structure perspective, export growth is mainly concentrated in smart, full‑color, and portable products, indicating an upgrading trend in international demand for high‑quality lighting equipment. With the rapid rise of digital economies and live‑commerce in Belt and Road countries, along with the global shift toward precision agriculture, China's LED fill light exports are expected to maintain healthy growth momentum in the second half of the year, injecting sustained vitality into the annual lighting trade.
